Job Description

A Senior Technician is a highly skilled professional tasked with overseeing technical tasks and projects within an organization. This position involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation of complex systems, as well as mentoring and supervising junior technicians. The ideal candidate for this role should possess strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They are responsible for ensuring technical operations run smoothly and efficiently. Senior Technicians often collaborate with engineers and other senior staff, providing valuable insights into system improvements and complex technical challenges. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability and performance of technical systems across the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical support and guidance to junior technicians and staff.
  • Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of technical equipment and systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement system improvements.
  • Develop and update technical documentation, including system specifications and user manuals.
  • Manage and oversee large-scale technical projects from inception to completion.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians to develop their technical skills and expertise.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies in all technical operations.
  • Monitor system performance and implement necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency.
  • Provide input during budgeting processes for equipment purchases and technical project proposals.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on critical technical systems.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technological advancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a technical or maintenance role.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and network systems and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex technical challenges.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with diverse teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of efficiency.
  • Certification or formal training in relevant technical disciplines is preferred.
