Junior Web Engineer

About this Role:

This is in reference for Jr. Web Engineer position; in this role you will work closely with the PM/Engineering teams and assist with testing activities in different projects. Your primary role is to ensure that the required quality standards are achieved, adheres to best practices, and fulfills project requirements. You will also be providing support for Client facing issues. Additionally in near future, you may also be assisting in global support for RT bug tracking tool. The Pune team plays a crucial role in ensuring overall reliability in the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary:

• Monitor and maintain OL support daily schedule (will have different shifts)
• First point of escalation for QA/Support queries/issues in Pune office
• Logging and keeping records of client queries
• Review tickets logged related to Support
• Testing OneLink hosted Websites (manual testing)
• Logging bugs in bug tracking tool
• Test-plan creation for websites (initial phase - less complex sites)
• Assist and collaborate closely with Project Managers and Engineers to get the job done
• Provides specific technical guidance whenever necessary
• Complete all other tasks assigned by Senior members as per requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• University Degree 3+ years in Comp/IT
• Understanding of Web browsers (latest versions of IE, Firefox and Chrome)
• Understanding of HTML/CSS, JS, XML etc.
• Knowledge in STLC, quality assurance methodologies, Web Development.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE (preferred but not a pre-requisite)

• Any past experiences with testing will be an added advantage
• Experience/Knowledge in Selenium or any other automation tools

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, other foreign languages would be an asset
• Detail orientation with the ability to multitask
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Independence in carrying out assigned tasks and also be a team-player
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analysis and autonomous problem discovery and solving skills
• Must be a self-starter, self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as part of a team
• High attention to detail and accuracy
