The Restaurant Captain plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional dining experiences and ensuring the smooth operation of a restaurant. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the dining room floor operations during service hours.
  • Ensure guests receive excellent customer service and a high-quality dining experience.
  • Train, guide, and motivate team members to achieve performance objectives.
  • Manage reservations and seating plans to maximize efficiency and flow.
  • Resolve customer complaints and ensure satisfaction in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management to streamline operations.
  • Supervise the setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, and dining areas.
  • Maintain knowledge of the menu, specials, and promotions to assist guests.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Track inventory and restock supplies to meet the needs of the service.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and shift management to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Develop relationships with regular diners to enhance customer loyalty and retention.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant setting.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of restaurant service practices and food safety regulations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality degree is a plus.
