Job Description

An Academic Administration Officer plays a vital role in supporting the academic functions and operations of educational institutions. This position entails managing the diverse administrative tasks necessary to keep academic departments running smoothly. The role typically involves liaising with faculty members, students, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient communication and adherence to institutional policies. The officer also participates in strategic planning and executes educational programs to enhance the quality of instruction and student services. In addition, they are involved in scheduling classes, coordinating examinations, and compiling academic reports. An Academic Administration Officer must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all administrative tasks related to academic operations effectively.
  • Assist in the scheduling and organization of classes, courses, and examinations for academic terms.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student academic performance and institutional data.
  • Serve as the primary contact for faculty, staff, and student inquiries regarding academic policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all educational regulations and accreditation requirements at all levels.
  • Assist in the coordination and preparation of academic reports and performance assessments.
  • Manage the academic calendar and ensure timely dissemination of relevant information.
  • Facilitate staff meetings and other academic events, ensuring relevant objectives are achieved.
  • Participate in the development of academic programs and initiatives to support educational goals.
  • Manage the online learning platforms and provide assistance to faculty and students as needed.
  • Develop and improve procedures and systems for efficient academic administration processes.
  • Coordinate with external partners and accreditation bodies when necessary for academic programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in academic or educational administration.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and academic management software systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Knowledge of educational policies, regulations, and accreditation standards essential.
