Job Description

The role of a Store In-charge is pivotal in managing the day-to-day operations of a retail store. This position is responsible for ensuring smooth operational efficiency by overseeing all aspects of the store's management, from maintaining inventory levels to delivering excellent customer service. A Store In-charge plays an instrumental role in coordinating with various departments to ensure the store meets its sales targets and operates within its budget. They are also responsible for developing staff, encouraging a positive work environment, and maintaining high standards of housekeeping and merchandising. Candidates for this role should have excellent leadership skills, a deep understanding of retail operations, and a commitment to building a high-performance team.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the store, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Supervise and mentor store staff, providing guidance and performance feedback regularly.
  • Ensure inventory levels are maintained, conducting regular stock takes and audits as necessary.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase store sales and profitability.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer complaints effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies within the store premises.
  • Manage and maintain the store's visual merchandising to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Prepare store reports and present findings to senior management as required.
  • Develop promotional and marketing strategies to drive traffic and increase sales.
  • Manage cash handling procedures and ensure accuracy in transactions.
  • Maintain communication with suppliers for optimal stock management and pricing.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to stay ahead in the retail space.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a retail management position with strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in store operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff and customers.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret sales data to make informed business decisions.
  • Proficiency in using retail management software and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
