Division Profile

The Anti-Money Laundering Risk (AML Risk) team is embedded within the Firm’s business lines. It is responsible for identifying, assessing, and escalating potential money laundering and reputational risks associated with higher risk client types. The AML Risk team is considered to be in the First Line of defense and supports the onboarding, client due diligence, enhanced due diligence and negative news processes

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced candidate to support our tea, expansion in Mumbai, India. This individual will be responsible for building out, leading and managing the function, ensuring effective KPI tracking, setting up operating procedures for scaling teams, risk management practices, regulatory compliance, and adherence to internal policies and procedures. This is an individual contributor role for now and will report directly into Head of India, 1L FCR (Executive Director).

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Assist with the set-up, expansion, and management of the function, including meeting training & transition timelines, and onboarding of new staff.
  • Work closely with the Head of FCR to
    • Maintain KPIs, policies, procedures, and guidelines governing the team and its operations in alignment with strategic goals, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
    • Maintain appropriate capacity models
    • Liaise and manage senior management stakeholders, not limited to visits including key stakeholder introductions, meetings, and programming.
    • Ensure staff receive appropriate training & development, assist in developing training plans
  • Create Senior Leadership presentations, ability to effectively communicate and present to stakeholders will also be critical to success of the team.
  • The role requires an individual with strong analytical skills, comfort working with large datasets, tools to create metrics, cadent, visualize data and the ability to effectively communicate for project planning.
  • Monitor KPI, providing actionable insights to drive performance improvements and data-informed decision making.
  • Build out of robust Business Continuity Plan [BCP]
  • Liaise & partner with the U.S teams
Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA will be a plus.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in related roles in the financial services industry.
  • COO team experience required

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical & critical reasoning skills, an ability to effectively summarize datasets. Prior experience with visualization skills (like Tableau) is required.
  • Expertise with Microsoft suite of products Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical & critical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to work with global and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
