Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Senior IT Analyst Technical Infrastructure(Event Management AIOps Analyst) to join Enterprise IT Catalog Services -CAT IT Division.
The preference for this role is to be based out of Chennai and Bangalore- India.
What You Will Do
The Event Management AIOps Analyst will be responsible for collaborating with service and tool owners, subject matter experts (SMEs) and support analyst to enable onboarding and maintain continual improvements to Caterpillar’s AIOps & Event Management tool – BigPanda – ensuring value and alignment to metric objectives.
- Develop event management onboarding requirements based on volume and business value
- Collaborate on event monitoring solutions and/or tools with service owners
- Assist with integrating monitoring tools into AIOPs solution - BigPanda
- Assist with validation and testing integrated solutions
- Review monitoring solutions for continual process improvements (CPI) with service owners and BigPanda core team
- Develop and maintain operational, execution, and training documentation
- Assist with training delivery
- Proactively monitor for process execution improvements by service delivery teams
- Monitor for opportunities of proactive incident & problem management
- Assist teams with RCCA, as needed
- Escalate concerns where appropriate
What You Will Have
- Requires a relevant degree, technical certification, or equivalent years of experience.
- Six to ten years in development and support work related to systems and application monitoring or event management.
- Knowledgeable of and skilled in relevant programming languages; computing hardware and software; infrastructure elements, and current development processes and tools.
- Python, Perl, Shell scripting
- Event Frameworks, Automation Integration (Ansible)
- BigPanda, ServiceNow, GitHub, ThousandEyes
- Azure, AWS, Grafana
- Additionally, the incumbent should have a good knowledge of Caterpillar policies and procedures, and a general understanding of Caterpillar’s organization.
- Its a Remote work(India) .

- Confirms deliverables associated with requirements analysis.
- Communicates with customers and users to elicit and gather client requirements.
- Utilizes specific organizational methods, tools and techniques for requirements analysis.
System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.
Level Working Knowledge:
- Verifies the proper flow of transactions across all input, output and storage channels or devices.
- Designs processes to ensure that the system meets and maintains requirements and expectations.
- Coaches end users on the test scenarios for system validation.
- Manages the execution of test plans.
Troubleshooting: Ability to anticipate, recognize, investigate, and resolve issues experienced by service owners or support teams.
Level Working Knowledge:
- Reports and monitors all issues found and reviews solutions for completeness and correctness.
- Resolves a variety of issues experienced by service owners and support teams.
Technical Writing/Documentation: Ability to write documents such as manuals, training guidelines; or documents on standards, processes and procedures.
Level Working Knowledge:
- Conducts training on documentation delivery mechanisms, tools and techniques.
- Establishes and references best practices for existing tools and delivery vehicles for proper documentation.
