Job Description

The IT Support Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining the technological infrastructure of an organization. They provide essential support for IT systems, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure the smooth operation of computer networks. The position requires a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills to address technical challenges efficiently. In addition to resolving IT issues, the IT Support Assistant is responsible for user support, system configuration, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. As an integral part of the IT team, they facilitate communication between technical and non-technical staff, ensuring that all individuals within the organization can effectively use technology to perform their duties. They must stay updated on the latest technological advancements to recommend and implement improvements that enhance operational efficiency.


Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and effective technical support to all users in the organization.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware problems on daily basis.
  • Assist in the installation and configuration of computer systems and software.
  • Maintain accurate logs of support activities and resolution steps undertaken.
  • Set up user accounts and manage access permissions within company systems.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to implement system security protocols.
  • Respond to user inquiries and train staff on newly deployed technology tools.
  • Monitor company networks and resolve connectivity issues as they arise.
  • Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals for users.
  • Assist in purchasing and maintenance of IT equipment and software licenses.
  • Support the IT team in managing system upgrades and application deployments.
  • Ensure end-user satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology or related technical field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a technical support or IT helpdesk role is required.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, networks, and mobile devices.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and office software applications.
  • Excellent communication skills to assist non-technical users effectively.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills with attention to details and patience.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
