Job Description: Wire Harness Sales Engineer
Experience: 4–5 Years
Role Overview
As a Wire Harness Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for managing technical
sales activities related to wire harness products, supporting customers through the
entire sales cycle — from initial inquiry to post-delivery support. You will work closely
with engineering, production, and procurement teams to ensure customer
requirements are met with optimized, cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop new business opportunities for wire harness products
across target markets (automotive, industrial, etc.).
Respond to RFQs (Request for Quotation), prepare technical/commercial
proposals, and follow up with customers.
Understand customer technical requirements by interpreting wiring diagrams,
schematics, and 3D models.
Coordinate with internal engineering and production teams to provide
accurate cost estimates, BOMs, and lead times.
Support the product design process by providing customer input and ensuring
manufacturability and compliance.
Conduct product presentations, technical discussions, and commercial
negotiations.
Maintain long-term relationships with key accounts and ensure timely delivery
and quality service.
Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
Maintain CRM systems and prepare regular sales reports and forecasts.
Key Skills Tools
Technical knowledge of wire harness components (connectors, terminals,
cables, tubing, etc.)
Proficient in reading electrical schematics and 2D/3D CAD drawings
Experience with ERP and CRM software (e.g., SAP, Salesforce)
Knowledge of relevant standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620)
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical or related field
4–5 years of experience in wire harness sales or technical support
Prior experience dealing with OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers is preferred
Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
