Job Description: Wire Harness Sales Engineer

Experience: 4–5 Years

Role Overview

As a Wire Harness Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for managing technical

sales activities related to wire harness products, supporting customers through the

entire sales cycle — from initial inquiry to post-delivery support. You will work closely

with engineering, production, and procurement teams to ensure customer

requirements are met with optimized, cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

 Identify and develop new business opportunities for wire harness products

across target markets (automotive, industrial, etc.).

 Respond to RFQs (Request for Quotation), prepare technical/commercial

proposals, and follow up with customers.

 Understand customer technical requirements by interpreting wiring diagrams,

schematics, and 3D models.

 Coordinate with internal engineering and production teams to provide

accurate cost estimates, BOMs, and lead times.

 Support the product design process by providing customer input and ensuring

manufacturability and compliance.

 Conduct product presentations, technical discussions, and commercial

negotiations.

 Maintain long-term relationships with key accounts and ensure timely delivery

and quality service.

 Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.

 Maintain CRM systems and prepare regular sales reports and forecasts.

Key Skills Tools

 Technical knowledge of wire harness components (connectors, terminals,

cables, tubing, etc.)

 Proficient in reading electrical schematics and 2D/3D CAD drawings

 Experience with ERP and CRM software (e.g., SAP, Salesforce)

 Knowledge of relevant standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620)

 Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

 Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines

Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree in electrical or related field

 4–5 years of experience in wire harness sales or technical support

 Prior experience dealing with OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers is preferred

 Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
