The Opportunity

When you join PwC Acceleration Centers (ACs), you step into a pivotal role focused on actively supporting various Acceleration Center services, from Advisory to Assurance, Tax and Business Services. In our innovative hubs, you’ll engage in challenging projects and provide distinctive services to support client engagements through enhanced quality and innovation. You’ll also participate in dynamic and digitally enabled training that is designed to grow your technical and professional skills.

As part of the Software Engineering team you will oversee the migration of Oracle databases across various platforms, maintaining seamless transitions and performance. As a Senior Associate, you will utilize your hands-on experience to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage complex migration projects. This role presents a unique opportunity to work with advanced technologies and contribute to innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the migration of Oracle databases across platforms
  • Confirm smooth transitions and database performance

What You Must Have

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 4 years of experience
  • Oral and written proficiency in English required

What Sets You Apart

  • 4 years of experience in Oracle database migrations
  • Proven experience with Oracle Exadata and ExaCC environments
  • Demonstrating proficiency in database backup and recovery
  • Utilizing Oracle Enterprise Manager for performance monitoring
  • Collaborating effectively with cloud architects and teams
  • Documenting migration procedures and knowledge transfer
  • Familiarity with GoldenGate for real-time replication
  • Knowledge of Terraform/Ansible for DB provisioning
  • Experience in hybrid migration scenarios

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and execute Oracle database migrations across:
  • Data Center-to-Data Center
  • AWS-to-AWS cloud setups
  • Azure-to-Azure cloud setups
  • Oracle Exadata (Exadata to Exadata, Exadata to ExaCC)
  • Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) environments
  • Perform end-to-end database backup and recovery using:
  • Rubrik for backup orchestration and recovery
  • RMAN (Recovery Manager) for backup/restore operations, incremental (delta) syncs, and PITR (Point-in-Time Recovery)
  • Implement delta data synchronization strategies for near-zero downtime migration.
  • Use Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for:
  • Database performance monitoring
  • Health checks and proactive alerting
  • Migration tracking and validation
  • Execute data purging and archival strategies to optimize database size and performance pre/post-migration.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects, infrastructure teams, and application owners to ensure smooth migration with minimal business disruption.
  • Document migration runbooks, rollback procedures, and knowledge transfer.

Must-Have Skills

  • 4+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with large-scale migration projects.
  • Proven expertise in Oracle database migration and replication across multi-cloud and tenant environments.
  • Strong experience with:
  • Oracle Exadata administration, migration, and performance tuning
  • Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) implementation and management
  • Oracle Data Guard setup, switchover, failover, and role transitions
  • Rubrik for backup, restore, and DR integration
  • RMAN for backup/recovery, delta sync, cloning, and duplication
  • OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) for monitoring and migration validation
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native database solutions in AWS (RDS, EC2, S3) and Azure (Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Recovery Vaults).
  • Experience in data purging, retention policies, and compliance for regulated environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and problem-resolution skills, particularly in Exadata/ExaCC environments.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Knowledge of GoldenGate for real-time replication.
  • Familiarity with Terraform/Ansible for IaC-based DB provisioning.
  • Experience in hybrid migration scenarios (on-prem to Exadata, Exadata to ExaCC, ExaCC to cloud).
  • Exposure to DevOps pipelines for automated DB deployment.
