Job Description

In the dynamic environment of retail and inventory management, a Store Keeper plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities within a warehouse or store facility. As a Store Keeper, you will be responsible for organizing, monitoring, and managing the inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels while maximizing efficiency and effectiveness. This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting. A successful Store Keeper is proactive, capable of multi-tasking, and can communicate effectively with team members and vendors. Your primary goal will be to maintain a well-stocked and orderly inventory, contributing to the overall success and profitability of the business.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for all products and goods in the store.
  • Conduct regular physical stock checks and validate through inventory systems.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries of goods.
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders when necessary to prevent shortages.
  • Ensure proper labeling and storage of inventory items for easy access and retrieval.
  • Implement and enforce security measures to prevent inventory loss and theft.
  • Facilitate the process of incoming and outgoing inventory with logistic partners.
  • Prepare and generate regular inventory and sales reports for management review.
  • Train and supervise junior staff or assistants in store operations and protocols.
  • Resolve discrepancies in inventories by collaborating with accounting and finance teams.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in storage areas to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Assist in developing strategies to improve inventory management and store operations.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Store Keeper or in a similar position required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and other relevant computer applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing inventory tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective team interaction.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items as required during inventory operations.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities in dealing with inventory discrepancies and issues.
