Purpose and Scope

As an Automation Test Engineer in Enterprise platforms, you will be a crucial player in driving our digital initiatives forward in our agile organization. Our agile operating model consists of two components – Digital Capability and Digital Execution. Digital Execution is about aligning multiple missions around business goals and facilitating collaboration on a larger scale. Digital Capability, on the other hand, focuses on the growth and development of individuals within a specific expertise area. This dual structure enables us to scale agile practices efficiently while maintaining a focus on both product development and individual skill enhancement.

As an Automation Test Engineer, you will define strategy for leveraging test tools, administer the tools, develop automation test scripts for our organization. This role involves a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and a deep understanding of Tricentis Tosca automation tools. You will create and execute automated test scripts as well as help delivery and support teams. You will use your knowledge, expertise, and quick learning to stay ahead and teach others in evolving automation tool ecosystem. You will provide technical support for Tosca, and resolve issues with external agencies and teams, business users and software vendors. You’ll also monitor performance and drive continuous improvement. The evolving use and future opportunities bring a lot of variety in your day-to-day job.

This position is based in Bengaluru and will require some on-site work.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Develop automation roadmap and strategy for leveraging Tricentis Tosca for functional automation. Administer automation tools, manage users and roles, manage license utilization
• Define guidelines/best practice for writing automated test scripts, ensure test scripts’ consistency. Continuously improve test automation frameworks and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
• Support test automation solutions for different environments and multiple platforms across landscape (Web-based, desktop-based; API’s; SAP, Veeva/SalesForce, Adobe, etc.
• Develop new automated test scripts and automate existing manual tests. Conduct peer reviews of automated test scripts
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards throughout the testing process
• Identify, document, and track defects and issues, working closely with development teams to resolve them
• Support components of the Tosca and their interfaces with other tools and systems. Help in troubleshooting issues within test platform
• Increase tools’ adoption through conducting training sessions
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Regularly monitor performance of tools, simplify administrative activities, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and user experience
• Security & Compliance: Ensure the applications are secure, compliant, and projects adhere to SLC best practices, including managing identity and access and securing data. Generate and maintain related documentation including SOPs, WIPs, STL Templates and Training Materials as needed
• Initiative Execution: Actively participate in and contribute to various initiatives, applying your specialized skills to achieve the objectives and expected Value. Contribute to the ongoing realization of Value from these enterprise platforms through continuous integration and deployment
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members within the subdivision and across other digital and business units
• Continuous Learning: Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in a specific area of expertise
• Innovation: Contribute innovative ideas and approaches to enhance project outcomes and digital capabilities
• Reporting: Regularly report on system use to your Capability Lead, VT captain, and team members
• Problem-Solving: Employ analytical and problem-solving skills to overcome project challenges and deliver effective solutions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in relevant field, e.g., Computer Science, Data Science
• 3+ years experience in software test automation, working with tools like Tricentis Tosca or Worksoft Certify
• Deep understanding of testing within a heavily regulated environment. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry’
• Experience in setting up and troubleshooting test automation tools like Tosca or Worksoft. Strong background in writing and troubleshooting automated scripts
• Experience in automating test scripts for platforms like SAP ECC or SAP S4HANA, Veeva/SalesForce, Adobe, ServiceNow, MS 365, etc
• Proven track record of establishing and following best practices for creating and managing test scripts
• Proficiency in different phases of testing like Sanity Testing, Functional Testing, GUI Testing, Regression Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, Performance Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Thorough understanding of software development life cycle
• Experience in CI/CD Azure pipeline. Experience with integrating automated testing tools with product suite with DevOps pipeline
• Experience of working with OpenText ALM and ALM Client
• Familiarity with at least one Source Code Control too
• Strong knowledge of DevOps and Agile methodology and experience working in Agile teams. Experience in using Azure DevOps for continuous integration, continuous delivery, pipelines, and version control.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to automation tools.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with development, operations, security teams, business users, software vendors.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Agile and adaptable to changing environments and project scopes.
