Job Description

As a Cashier at our store, you play an integral role in providing an excellent customer experience. You will be the face of our company, interacting directly with customers as they finalize their purchases. Your main responsibility is to manage cash and credit transactions effectively and accurately. But beyond that, you will be providing great customer service, answering queries, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Ideal candidates will possess strong customer service skills, numerical proficiency, and the ability to handle transactions securely. You will also be expected to assist in other retail responsibilities as needed, maintain a clean working environment, and follow company policies at all times.


Responsibilities

  • Process customer purchases through the point of sale system efficiently and accurately.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing any questions or concerns promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Handle cash, credit cards, and check transactions with precision and confidentiality.
  • Count cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure accuracy.
  • Reconcile sales with receipts to identify any discrepancies or errors.
  • Assist in resolving customer complaints or issues with patience and tact.
  • Stock and organize merchandise on shelves and displays during non-busy times.
  • Keep up to date with promotions, store policies, and security procedures.
  • Identify and report any suspicious transactions or activities to the supervisor.
  • Provide receipts and ensure all transactions are recorded in the system accurately.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient store operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification preferred.
  • Prior experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is a plus.
  • Proficient numerical skills with the ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in transactions and record-keeping.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
  • Ability to handle transactions promptly and with excellent customer service ethics.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods and adjusting to a fast-paced environment.
