MEP Draftsman (225-917)

An MEP Draftsman is a specialist responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and plans related to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems using computer-aided design (CAD) software. This role is pivotal in the construction and engineering industries as it involves designing building services systems that are efficient, reliable, and meet all necessary safety and environmental regulations. With an eye for detail and precision, MEP Draftsmen are expected to translate written and verbal instructions into precise plans and ensure that all drawings meet project specifications and industry standards. Responsibilities

• Create detailed MEP designs and shop drawings using AutoCAD or related software.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements.
• Interpret technical instructions and convert them into accurate CAD drawings.
• Ensure that all designs comply with local and international building codes.
• Review and revise drawings based on feedback from engineering teams.
• Coordinate with other drafting professionals to integrate various design elements.
• Maintain and organize project files and relevant documentation efficiently.
• Conduct site visits and field surveys to gather project information as needed.
• Prepare weekly progress reports on drafting milestones and outstanding issues.
• Utilize feedback from team reviews to enhance accuracy and detail in drawings.
• Provide technical support and resolve issues related to MEP design challenges.
• Stay updated with the latest MEP drafting software and techniques in the industry.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an MEP Draftsman or in a similar drafting role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or other CAD software for creating technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in buildings.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce highly accurate work.
• Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with engineering teams.
• Familiarity with building codes and safety standards relevant to MEP systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
