Job Description

The Legal Counsel role is integral to providing high-quality legal advice and support to our organization. This position requires a professional who can skillfully navigate through complex legal issues and ensure compliance with laws and regulations applicable to our industry. As a Legal Counsel, you will work closely with various departments to minimize risk through careful contract analysis and negotiation. You will also be responsible for handling legal disputes and finding effective resolutions. Additionally, staying updated on legal trends and best practices will be crucial in maintaining your effectiveness in the role. Your expertise will aid in safeguarding the legal interests of the company while facilitating business operations.


Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice to senior management and various departments within the organization.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring terms align with company policies and objectives.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings, disputes, and negotiations with third parties.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations across the company.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to minimize risk and legal liability for the organization.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to stay informed of changes in legislation and case law.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel as necessary for specialized cases or jurisdictions.
  • Prepare legal documents, including briefs, contracts, and other necessary documentation.
  • Maintain a detailed record of all legal documentation and correspondence.
  • Advise on potential legal risks related to business operations and strategic decisions.
  • Facilitate training sessions for employees to enhance understanding of legal compliance requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with management during mergers, acquisitions, or other corporate restructurings.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate law or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex legal issues effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting and negotiating contracts.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance issues.
  • Experience with legal dispute resolution and litigation processes.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
