Responsibilities

  • Design and create a variety of baked goods, ensuring high-quality standards.
  • Lead and supervise a team of bakers to achieve daily production goals.
  • Develop new recipes and seasonal offerings to enhance the bakery menu.
  • Manage inventory and orders to maintain adequate supplies and ingredients.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations in the kitchen.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate baking schedules and operations.
  • Oversee the packaging and presentation of baked goods for sale and display.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior bakers to enhance their skills.
  • Handle customer inquiries and feedback to improve service and product offerings.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and baking equipment.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and innovative baking techniques and tools.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks for taste, texture, and appearance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Bakery Chef or in a similar culinary role.
  • Strong understanding of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Creativity and a keen eye for detail in designing baked goods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation practices and regulations.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with staff and customers.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent qualification in Baking and Pastry Arts is preferred.
