Job Description

A Purchase Executive plays a crucial role in the supply chain management of an organization. They are responsible for acquiring goods and services at competitive prices while maintaining quality standards. This position requires a professional who is adept at negotiating with suppliers, understanding market trends, and ensuring cost-effective procurement activities. The Purchase Executive works closely with various departments like finance, warehousing, and production to ensure seamless operations within the company. They are expected to maintain strong relationships with vendors, keep accurate records of purchase orders, and consistently evaluate supplier performance. With the growing complexity of global markets, a successful Purchase Executive must possess analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to sourcing strategies.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to identify potential vendors and purchase trends.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers and vendors.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to understand purchasing needs and specifications.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery times.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
  • Develop and implement purchasing policies and processes to improve efficiency.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality or delivery.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions in line with company policies.
  • Report on cost analyses and budgeting against actual expenses.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely supply of materials.
  • Analyze and review procurement processes to suggest improvements.
  • Coordinate with logistics teams to manage inventory and delivery schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with a proven track record.
  • Proficient in using procurement and inventory management software.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in decision-making.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of market dynamics and quality assurance processes.
