Job Description

As a Customer Service Advisor in the medical sector, you will serve as the front line of communication between our healthcare facility and patients. Your primary role is to facilitate top-notch customer service by engaging with patients to attend to their queries, assist in appointments, and guide them through our services. You will be expected to maintain an empathetic and patient-focused attitude, effectively addressing any concerns while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and guidelines. You will work closely with medical professionals to ensure the smooth operating of patient-related processes, keeping a detailed record of all interactions and transactions. Your ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism is critical to this role.


Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive assistance to patients with enquiries and service-related questions.
  • Manage and organize patient appointments and scheduling efficiently and accurately.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare staff, ensuring clear communication.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere strictly to data protection regulations.
  • Handle patient complaints and grievances with empathy and professionalism.
  • Keep thorough records of all interactions, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Provide relevant and timely information about services and procedures to patients.
  • Assist in the processing of billing, insurance, and payment-related queries.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to enhance patient experience and service delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service quality and provide constructive feedback.
  • Utilize hospital information systems to manage patient data efficiently.
  • Participate in ongoing training to improve service delivery and stay updated with medical protocols.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a customer service role, ideally within a medical setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Proficiency in using healthcare management systems and software applications.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Capable of effectively managing time and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Empathy and patience in dealing with distressed or anxious patients.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; further education in healthcare is advantageous.
