Job Description

The Commis - II plays a crucial role in the kitchen brigade, supporting the culinary team with food preparation and assisting higher-level chefs with their duties. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the culinary arts and eager to learn and develop their skills in a professional kitchen environment. As a Commis - II, you will be responsible for executing various tasks assigned by senior chefs while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and cooking of ingredients as per recipes.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment regularly.
  • Organize and store food products following the kitchen’s storage standards.
  • Assist in the receiving and storage of kitchen deliveries efficiently.
  • Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards to prevent contamination.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Assist senior chefs in plating dishes and garnishing food items attractively.
  • Monitor food stock levels and report any shortages to senior staff.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
  • Participate in regular training and development programs organized by the kitchen.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by senior chefs.
  • Assist with inventory management and keep track of food supplies.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques required.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently under supervision.
  • Familiarity with kitchen hygiene and food safety regulations essential.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities are necessary.
