Job Description

The Front Office Manager is a critical role within the hotel industry, responsible for overseeing a team of receptionists, ensuring excellent customer service, and managing various administrative tasks. This position requires a leader who is both customer-oriented and adept at handling the operational dynamics of a hotel's front office. A successful candidate will be organized, approachable, and able to juggle multiple tasks while maintaining a focus on guest satisfaction. As the face of the hotel, the Front Office Manager is crucial in setting the tone for the guest experience, leading by example, and instilling a culture of hospitality excellence. This role often involves liaising with other departments to ensure that guests have a seamless experience from check-in to check-out.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure the front desk provides a professional and friendly service for guests.
  • Schedule shifts and manage team members to optimize workflow efficiently.
  • Handle guest complaints and feedback with courtesy and resolution skills.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping to ensure timely room readiness and cleanliness.
  • Supervise front office staff, ensuring high morale and performance standards.
  • Maintain and monitor front office finances, including budgets and expenses.
  • Train, develop, and mentor staff members to enhance service quality.
  • Administer check-in and check-out processes with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between hotel departments to enhance guest experience.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a high level of guest service standards across the front office team.
  • Hold regular team meetings to communicate updates and areas of improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a similar role within a hotel.
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills are essential.
  • Proven organizational skills to manage staff schedules and inventories.
  • Ability to handle pressure and deal with high-stress situations proficiently.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on fostering a team environment.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and front office systems.
