Job Description

A Counter Sales Executive plays a pivotal role in connecting the retail establishment with its customers. They are often the first point of contact, serving as the face of the organization and ensuring that each customer receives prompt, friendly, and professional service. The role requires a combination of sales skills, product knowledge, and the ability to provide tailored customer service. Counter Sales Executives engage with customers at the sales counter, help them understand the products, and guide them in making purchasing decisions. They should be adept at managing transactions, maintaining records, and handling stock. As a central figure in retail operations, a Counter Sales Executive ensures that customers have a pleasant shopping experience, which can enhance customer loyalty and drive sales growth.


Responsibilities

  • Greet customers as they enter the retail establishment and offer assistance.
  • Provide customers with information on product features, pricing, and benefits.
  • Guide customers through the purchasing process and suggest upselling opportunities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales counter to facilitate a pleasant shopping environment.
  • Process sales transactions accurately using a point-of-sale system.
  • Keep records of sales, customer interactions, and inventory movements consistently.
  • Ensure that the inventory at the sales counter is always stocked and up-to-date.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Coordinate with the inventory team to restock products efficiently and timely.
  • Participate in sales meetings and training sessions to improve performance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regular customers to foster loyalty.
  • Assist in promotional activities to increase store sales and customer footfall.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification is necessary.
  • Previous experience in a sales or customer service role is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers.
  • Ability to operate a point-of-sale system and manage cash transactions accurately.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to handle customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Flexibility to work in varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
