Job Description

As a Cardiology Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases by assisting cardiologists with various cardiovascular procedures and tests. You will be responsible for operating specialized medical equipment that helps in the detection and assessment of heart ailments. Working closely with patients, you will need to ensure they are comfortable and informed throughout the procedures. Your expertise will aid in the accurate capture of data related to cardiac functions, which is essential for diagnoses and treatment plans. Your role requires a blend of technical skills, patient care, and a thorough understanding of cardiac technologies and methodologies to contribute effectively to the patient care team.


Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain all cardiac diagnostic equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
  • Assist cardiologists during procedures by setting up and monitoring equipment.
  • Prepare patients for tests by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
  • Conduct electrocardiograms (ECGs) and stress tests under physician supervision.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs during procedures, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Record and document data collected from cardiovascular tests accurately and promptly.
  • Keep track of inventory and order necessary supplies and equipment when needed.
  • Assist in the preparation and placement of patients in examination positions.
  • Communicate test results and other findings effectively to the medical team.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations while handling equipment and patients.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure data is secured against unauthorized access.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to anxious or concerned patients.

Requirements

  • An associate degree or diploma in cardiovascular technology or a related field.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Experience in using cardiac monitoring and diagnostic equipment effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective patient and team communication.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage simultaneously occurring tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced clinical environments with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail in conducting tests and documenting patient data accurately.
