Job Description

The MIS (Management Information Systems) Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all activities related to the organization's information systems. This role involves overseeing the integration and implementation of technology to enhance business operations, improve efficiencies, and ensure data accuracy and security. The MIS Coordinator acts as a vital link between IT services and business needs, translating complex technical information into layman's terms for various departments. They aim to optimize system performance, facilitate decision-making processes, and support critical business functions. The position demands a skilled communicator and strategic thinker who can manage multiple projects, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure that organizational goals are met through the efficient use of technology systems.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the daily operations of the Management Information System.
  • Maintain and update system software and hardware for optimal performance.
  • Develop and implement policies related to data security and access.
  • Analyze system problems and develop trouble-shooting solutions.
  • Ensure that data management practices comply with legal and company standards.
  • Design and generate system reports to support business decision-making.
  • Train staff in the use of new systems and software applications.
  • Work closely with IT professionals to evaluate system performance.
  • Communicate complex information system concepts to non-technical staff.
  • Lead project teams in deploying new software systems and updates.
  • Monitor system functions and coordinate detailed backup and disaster recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with department heads to understand and meet their information technology needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in MIS or IT support role.
  • Strong understanding of database management and software applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think analytically.
  • Proficient in using various IT systems and associated software tools.
  • Experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with non-technical staff.
