Job Description

The Field IT Support Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring that organizations maintain optimal performance from their IT infrastructure. This role involves providing on-site technical support to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues. As a Field IT Support Engineer, you will be expected to have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with other IT professionals. You will address client service requests, ensuring minimal disruption to their business operations. Additionally, the role demands strong communication skills to effectively convey technical solutions to non-technical users. Continuously updating your knowledge about new technologies and certifications is crucial for success in this dynamic field.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site technical support to diagnose and resolve IT-related issues timely.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software and hardware for various end-users.
  • Perform regular maintenance to ensure the longevity and efficiency of IT equipment.
  • Provide strategic IT advice and recommendations to improve client infrastructure.
  • Document and report on all activities, issues, and technical solutions provided to clients.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple service requests to meet client expectations and SLAs.
  • Collaborate with in-house IT departments to escalate and resolve complex issues.
  • Offer training and guidance to clients on IT best practices and system functionalities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, security protocols, and data protection standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technology trends to provide proactive IT solutions.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, forecasting needed materials and supplies.
  • Assist with planning and implementation of major IT projects and deployments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven work experience as a Field IT Support Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and networking fundamentals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to work under pressure.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for client interactions.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel and possess a valid driver’s license for on-site support visits.
