BACKGROUND

The Hans Foundation, established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works for the improvement of quality of life for underprivileged communities across India through Health, Education, Livelihood and Disability sector interventions. THF undertakes direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing funding support to not-for-profit organizations in India through its donor – RIST, USA. THF’s Strategic planning focuses on key areas of its work with the aim of addressing the key issues of poverty alleviation, economic inequalities, and 360° impact on the quality of life through social development programs. THF’s programs are majorly implemented in the most rural and under-developed areas in the country. Over the years, THF has expanded its charitable activities in collaboration with State and Central Governments, institutions, corporates, academia and non-government organizations for sustainable interventions to achieve scale and economy. The interventions implemented by the foundation range from grass root level to national level programs.

  • JOB PURPOSE

End-to-end creator for impact storytelling across diverse Indian contexts. Plans and executes shoots in low-resource settings, ensuring ethical capture and production of platform-ready videos, reels, carousels, and print-ready IEC materials tailored for multi-language, low-literacy audiences. Collaborates closely with program teams, vendors, and government partners; manages daily graphic design requests from field teams; supports staff capacity building on IEC and social media; conducts beneficiary interviews; co-produces in-house short documentaries; and maintains an organized, high-quality photo and media archive.

Candidate needs to have a problem solving approach, work in a fast-paced environment, and be highly accountable and outcome driven.

  • KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Production & Field Capture
  • Pre-production: scripts, shot lists, consent forms (adult/child), location & beneficiary risk checks; align with safeguarding.
  • On-ground capture: interviews/B-roll in communities; protect identity (angles/blur/voice masking) when required.
  • Beneficiary interviews: plan, conduct, and log interviews with clear consent IDs and metadata for future reuse.
  • Travel 25–40% to focus states; manage small crews, translators, and community liaisons.
  • Post-production & Packaging
  • Edit films, explainers, shorts/reels, and event recaps; mix/cleanup audio; color balance; open/closed captions; multilingual versions.
  • Create reusable template kits (lower thirds, end slates, chart styles) for rapid turnarounds.
  • Short documentaries (in-house): co-develop narrative arcs with programs; schedule shoots; handle rough-cut to final delivery.
  • Day-to-Day Graphic Design Support
  • Daily collateral design for field/program asks posters, leaflets, flip cards, referral cards, training decks, certificates, WhatsApp creatives, event backdrops, and quick infographics.
  • Prepare print-ready files (CMYK, bleed, GSM/finish); coordinate soft/hard proofs; ensure accessibility/readability for low-literacy audiences.
  • IEC for Social Programs
  • Layout posters, flipbooks, simple step-by-step reference materials used by

field workers during visits (explaining “job aids” without jargon), and referral

cards with pictorial cues.

  • Work with MEL/programs to validate facts; run quick comprehension checks

with field staff/users.

  • Support regionally produced collaterals - review, ensure brand and factual accuracy, and provide approvals.
  • Social Media Content Support
  • Repurpose footage and photos into reels, thumbnails, carousels, GIFs, and simple motion graphics.
  • Maintain a rolling content calendar with the Comms team; supply timely assets from field activities and observance days.
  • Track basic performance signals (reach/engagement) to inform future cuts and formats.
  • Capacity Building (Field & Program Teams)
  • Conduct hands-on trainings on framing/phone video hygiene, basic photography, consent & safeguarding, IEC do’s/don’ts, and social media basics.
  • Create quick reference sheets, checklists, and micro-tutorials; run collateral reviews.
  • Establish simple intake SOPs (brief templates, timelines/SLAs) for design and AV requests.
  • Events & AV
  • Build branding assets (backdrops, standees, loops, name tents) and AV cue

sheets; support livestreams.

  • Rapid highlight edits for donor/press windows; share same day selects when feasible.
  • Vendors/Agencies & QC
  • Translate briefs into clear specs; review agency cuts/prints; perform QC; sign off on colour and brand.
  • Archive finals with organized naming conventions and version control.
  • Photo Bank & Media Library
  • Maintain an indexed photo/video bank: tags, captions, locations, themes, consent statuses, and usage rights.
  • Enforce metadata hygiene, backup policies, and retrieval workflows for quick access by comms/program teams.

Educational Qualifications

Masters/ Bachelor’s degree in mass media/mass communications/communications or related field

Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications etc.)

  • 3–6 years in production/editing/graphic design within the social sector/public health (preferred), PR & media, or agency settings.
  • Handles field shoots, beneficiary interviews, graphics and IEC material production, short in-house documentaries, and manages photo/video archives.

Tools & Skills Required

  • Video Editing: Adobe Premiere Pro (advanced), Audition; basic Affects Effects/Motion templates; Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Filmora.
  • Design: Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma; Canva for quick turnarounds.
  • Camera & Production: DSLR/mirrorless operation, basic lighting and sound.
  • Print & Pre-Press: CMYK, bleed, GSM, pre-press basics.
  • Field & Ethical Skills: Ethical storytelling, informed consent, child safeguarding, data privacy.
