Job Description

A Production Coordinator plays a crucial role in the seamless operation of television, film, or theater productions. This position is integral to ensuring that the production process runs efficiently, coordinating between various departments to manage schedules, resources, and communication. A Production Coordinator works closely with producers, directors, and department heads, providing support and ensuring all logistical elements are in place. With a keen eye for detail and excellent organizational skills, the Production Coordinator is essential in maintaining the flow of operations, from pre-production planning to post-production wrap-up. They must be adaptable, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and capable of problem-solving in fast-paced environments.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of production logistics from start to finish effectively.
  • Maintain and update production schedules to adhere to project timelines.
  • Communicate regularly between departments to ensure smooth production processes.
  • Assist in managing budgets and tracking expenditures throughout the production.
  • Organize and distribute scripts and other important production-related documents.
  • Arrange travel and accommodations for cast, crew, and production teams as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers for production needs.
  • Supervise production assistants and assign tasks to support production activities.
  • Ensure that health and safety protocols are followed on set and during production.
  • Facilitate and arrange proper equipment rentals or purchases for production.
  • Organize and attend production meetings, taking detailed notes as required.
  • Manage post-production activities including organizing wrap-up meetings and archiving materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in a production role is highly desirable for this position.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate effective coordination between departments.
  • Proficiency with production software and tools, such as scheduling and budgeting software.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including availability for evenings and weekends as needed.
