Job Description

As a Process Planning Manager in the metal industry, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the comprehensive planning and scheduling processes to ensure seamless operations. This role requires an individual with a robust understanding of metallurgical principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead a multidisciplinary team effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strategic vision for production efficiency, the capability to manage resources effectively, and a passion for continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with engineering, production, and supply chain departments to develop and refine processing methods that align with production goals. You must also possess excellent communication and leadership skills to drive projects and motivate the team towards achieving key business objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic process plans to optimize production efficiency in the metal industry.
  • Analyze production data to identify and rectify inefficiencies in the manufacturing process.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve process planning procedures.
  • Supervise and lead a team of process planners and support staff to ensure project goals are met.
  • Coordinate with supply chain management to ensure the timely availability of necessary materials.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all process planning activities.
  • Implement innovative solutions and technologies to enhance production processes and reduce costs.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments of processes to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for new and existing staff.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on project progress and production efficiency to senior management.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures within the team.
  • Foster a culture of creativity and innovation to encourage new ideas in process improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in process planning within the metal industry.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in metal production.
  • Proficiency in using process planning software and other related technologies is a must.
