Job Description

A Contract Management Officer plays a critical role in overseeing and managing the contracts that form the backbone of an organization’s relationships with external parties, such as vendors, suppliers, and clients. This position involves ensuring that all contracts are executed efficiently and effectively, aligning with company policies and legal requirements. The Contract Management Officer is responsible for the entire contract lifecycle from negotiation, drafting, reviewing, and monitoring contract performance to closure. Their primary goal is to mitigate risks, safeguard the company’s interests, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. The officer will work closely with legal, procurement, and operational departments to guarantee that all contractual obligations are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.


Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and manage a range of contractual documents with high accuracy.
  • Negotiate contract terms with external suppliers, vendors, and clients as needed.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations comply with company policies and legal standards.
  • Monitor contract performance and enforce adherence to scope, schedules, and budgets.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential contractual liabilities and exposures.
  • Coordinate with legal and finance departments to ensure contract compliance and clarity.
  • Create and maintain detailed records of all contract-related documentation and changes.
  • Review and update existing contracts to align with changing company needs and legislation.
  • Direct effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders for contract execution.
  • Lead training sessions on contract management processes and best practices for staff.
  • Handle contract disputes and propose solutions to resolve conflicts efficiently.
  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends and legal changes affecting contracts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or related field required.
  • Proven experience in contract management or similar position for at least three years.
  • Exceptional negotiation and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong knowledge of contract laws, regulations, and best practices is essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts and projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are vital for success.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
