Job Description

As a Computer Technician, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and repairing computer systems and networks to ensure they meet organizational needs and performance standards. You will address technical challenges across both hardware and software spectrums, providing swift resolution and support to end-users. This role demands individuals with a keen understanding of various operating systems, hardware components, and networks. Additionally, you must be adept at diagnosing and resolving a myriad of technical issues while providing a superior level of customer service. Your ability to troubleshoot, coupled with a proactive approach to learning new technologies, will be crucial for evolving and maintaining robust IT infrastructure. Working closely with other IT professionals, you can expect a dynamic environment where your technical acumen contributes directly to the efficiency and productivity of the technology landscape.


Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software applications and operating systems.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks, including software updates and system backups.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity problems and ensure reliable internet access.
  • Set up and manage user accounts and permissions for system access.
  • Provide technical support and work closely with other IT team members.
  • Maintain an orderly workspace and document all technical procedures accurately.
  • Respond to user inquiries and deliver technical guidance and training.
  • Repair and replace defective hardware components to maximize system performance.
  • Implement security measures and educate users on safe computing practices.
  • Test new hardware and software products, providing feedback on performance.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve complex hardware and software issues.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Computer Technician or similar role in IT support.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer systems, networks, and various software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with non-technical users.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified, preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education is an advantage.
