The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Pipeline Engineer to join our UAE Business Unit.

Wood has been awarded a general engineering contract to support an International Client operator to deliver a portfolio of onshore capital projects by provision of engineering and project management services (including EPC contract management), as well as Supply Chain, Construction and Commissioning support from Wood Iraq and UAE offices.
Projects include both Greenfield and Brownfield modification projects and integrating low-carbon solutions to support our client’s energy transition and emissions reduction goals.

Key Objectives
- Prepare pipeline design deliverables
- Provide input to produce pipeline documents and drawings
- Complete pipeline design calculations (wall thickness, buoyancy, bending, etc.)
- Provide field engineering support to perform site surveys and data gathering at various locations throughout the field
- Complete Material Take Offs and associated Material Requisitions
- Coordinate procurement bids and complete technical bid evaluations
- Identify optimization and operating cost reduction opportunities
- Ensure construction and field modifications meet the requirements of all applicable codes, standards and regulations
- Awareness of interdisciplinary activities and coordination such as PFD & P&ID’s
- Responsible for design team activities and assisting Senior Designer and Engineers
- Assist in coordination of all activities related to pipeline discipline
- Able to travel to Basra, Iraq as and when required.
- To promote safe behavior at all times
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Caesar II/Autopipe and awareness in Arc GIS, Autocad, Naviswork

Expected
- Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline although Chemical, or Mechanical or Pipeline Engineering are preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience
- Experience in as building and producing engineering deliverables
- Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
- Experience of sour service operations would be an advantage
- Familiar with the typical software packages that are used for Pipeline engineering design
