The Quality and EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Specialist ensures a companys operations meet high standards for product quality, workplace safety, and environmental protection by implementing and managing integrated systems for continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

In line with the Emiratization requirements preference will be given to qualified Emirati nationals.

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and Maintain Quality Plan and Quality Control plan
  • Implementation of the Quality Management System for the factory including Quality Assurance, Inspections, Calibrations, Procedures, Instructions and Quality Plans
  • Implementation of production process control and compliance
  • Work with the Supplier Quality Engineer/Sourcing team to resolve and improve vendor-related quality issues
  • Visit Suppliers’ works for in-process inspection where required
  • Perform Audits and follow-up on actions as necessary
  • Issue Non-Conformity and Corrective Actions follow-up on closure
  • Track and coordinate internal qualifications
  • Lead on pre-inspection meeting for each project & take care of Customer during their visit to factory for witness inspection.
  • Develop and maintain metrics that defines the condition of the production process and Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ).
  • Oversee internal processes such as NCR, Internal Audit, and others to ensure data accuracy, and process effectiveness including resulting corrective actions and performance metrics
  • Develop site programs to promote employee engagement and foster a strong EHS culture.
  • Ensure compliance with GE Vernova EHS policies, and standards.
  • Support Facility Leader at GEV EHS framework implementation.
  • Maintain legal compliance and oversee implementation of EHS regulations in the workplace.
  • Influence the development of site strategies and policies related to EHS and facilities management.
  • Support and/or lead assigned sites with audits, accident investigations, and EHS-related concerns.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to develop new processes and improve existing ones to minimize EHS risks
  • Supervising the implementation of inspections of systems and devices in the fire protection area.
  • Ensuring waste management principles are implemented in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Supervising employee HSE training, conducting initial general HSE training.

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical preferably).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs such as: MS Word, MS Excel, Microsoft Power point and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Previous experience and/or knowledge in Quality control and EHS.
  • Effective oral and written communication in both English and Arabic
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to direct complex daily activity of multiple work streams, focused on issue resolution.
  • Ability to create positive change in a team environment
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional quality and exceeding customer expectations.
