Job Description

As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our finance team, ensuring that all employees are compensated accurately and on time. You will manage and oversee the organization's payroll functions, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Your role is integral in maintaining payroll records in accordance with company policies and ensuring data integrity for timely payroll reporting. Working closely with the Human Resources and Finance departments, you will provide payroll support, resolve payroll issues, and assist with audits. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be essential for resolving any payroll discrepancies and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.


Responsibilities

  • Process and manage employee payroll, ensuring timely and accurate salary payments.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, resolving discrepancies as they arise.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state payroll and wage laws.
  • Collaborate with the HR department to implement payroll policies and procedures.
  • Generate detailed payroll reports for management and address any related inquiries.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets, job codes, and classifications.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll processes to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax documents and end-of-year reporting requirements.
  • Provide support in budget preparation and financial forecasting as it relates to payroll.
  • Resolve payroll-related issues raised by employees and communicate effectively with them.
  • Stay updated with changes in payroll laws, taxation, and best practices in the industry.
  • Coordinate with IT department to improve payroll system functionality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in payroll administration or related field.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Thorough understanding of payroll and taxation laws, including federal and state regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail in all tasks performed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees and management.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
