Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor (Mechanical) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the technical and commercial management of various projects from inception to completion. You will be instrumental in developing cost estimates, managing budgets, and ensuring the financial viability of projects while working closely with project engineers and clients. The role requires a strong background in mechanical systems and a keen eye for detail to ensure that all engineering projects are executed efficiently and economically. Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for mechanical projects.
  • Conduct comprehensive contract administration and management for all assigned projects.
  • Participate in tender evaluations and contract negotiations with suppliers and contractors.
  • Monitor project costs against the budget and provide regular financial updates.
  • Analyze construction drawings and specifications for accuracy and comprehensiveness.
  • Coordinate with project engineers and stakeholders for project requirements and timelines.
  • Develop and implement cost control measures to enhance project profitability.
  • Prepare and submit payment applications and invoices to clients promptly.
  • Maintain a thorough documentation process for all project cost-related activities.
  • Identify potential risks and propose appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Liaise with various departments to resolve any technical or commercial disputes.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in quantity surveying.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the mechanical sector.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction methodologies.
  • Proficient in cost estimation software and project management tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach to budgeting.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
  • Adept at managing multiple projects concurrently with varying timelines.
