Head of CoE (Renewable BU)- HE-BU

Objective

As a inverter specialist to work on latest Inverter technologies (String & Central) and to monitor the performance of inverters at site. Technical support to EDRC and Site team during engineering stage and inverter under operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • He/She should possess deep knowledge of power electronics systems, including inverters, DC-DC converters, AC-DC converters, and PCS, particularly for large-scale renewable energy and energy storage applications.
  • He/She should be well-versed in the latest technologies related to inverters and power conversion systems (PCS) for various applications, ensuring they meet system requirements such as efficiency, thermal management, voltage regulation, and load compatibility.
  • He/She should have a strong understanding of power electronic topologies (e.g., full-bridge, half-bridge, multi-level, bidirectional converters) based on project requirements and performance criteria.
  • He/She is expected to strengthen communication and synergy between the Contracts/Project (Tender) team and the EDRC (Design) team, considering both design aspects and cost factors for tenders.
  • He/She should have a solid understanding of grid code compliance, ensuring that inverters and converters meet grid code requirements for voltage regulation, frequency control, reactive power compensation, harmonics, and fault ride-through capabilities.
  • He/She should support the design and implementation of control algorithms for inverters and power conversion systems to PPC/HPC and ensure compliance with grid codes, including functions like voltage and frequency regulation, active power control, reactive power support, and dynamic response to grid disturbances.
  • He/She should support the entire project lifecycle by providing service support to project teams, including technical guidance during system design, commissioning, and ongoing system optimization.
  • He/She should assist with troubleshooting and providing technical support during the operation and maintenance phases of projects, ensuring smooth performance and resolving any system issues that arise in the field.
  • He/She will lead and suggest value engineering initiatives to the team.
  • He/She will perform fault analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause identification for power electronics systems during design, integration, and field deployment phases, ensuring compliance with grid standards and safety protocols.
  • He/She will mentor the team in vendor offer evaluation and necessary data compilation.
  • He/She will provide service support during the post-project phase to ensure optimal performance of power electronics systems, including overseeing system upgrades, retrofitting, troubleshooting, and offering technical consultations as required.
  • He/She should have knowledge of designing and integrating SKID systems that house power electronics, inverters, transformers, MV Switchgear, and other system components in pre-fabricated modular units. These systems should be efficient, cost-effective, and easily scalable for large-scale renewable energy and storage projects.
  • He/She should have the capability to analyze the thermal characteristics of power electronics designs and implement cooling strategies to ensure efficient operation and thermal management within SKID enclosures.
  • He/She will collaborate with external vendors and internal teams for the integration of SKID systems into large-scale energy projects, ensuring alignment with project specifications, performance requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • He/She will prepare detailed technical documentation for SKID system designs, including system design reports, testing procedures, grid code compliance reports, and commissioning reports.
  • He/She should stay updated on the latest developments in grid codes, power electronics, renewable energy technologies, and modular system design, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation in grid integration.
  • He/She should have experience with simulating grid compliance scenarios using industry-standard simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PSSE, PSCAD, and PLEXOS for evaluating dynamic responses to grid events like voltage sags, frequency deviations, and grid faults.
  • He/She will monitor and sensitize the team on the implementation of lessons learned from ongoing/executed projects for similar bids, identifying possible mitigation strategies.
  • He/She should be capable of multitasking and delivering multiple tasks on time.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.
