Electrical Engineer

Electrical engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems and components. They work on projects that involve electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism, ensuring that systems meet safety standards, are energy-efficient, and function as intended.

Responsibilities

• Proven ability to technically lead and motivate project teams of HVAC designers and drafters and to effect interdisciplinary coordination of technical work.
• Assists with mentoring junior staff within the Department
• Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
• Determine methods and procedures for new or special assignments.
• Ability to act as a project manager assisting with workload planning, team management, and project management
• Assist in project checking for quality control on other projects.
• Ability to leverage previous experience completing multiple large projects with excellent results.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory authorities and obtain approvals as necessary.
• Liaise with clients, professional organizations, contractors, suppliers, sub-contractors, and other designers.
• Generation of detailed cost estimates, material take-offs, schedules, and preparation of analytical reports and presentations.
• Leverage broad expertise or unique knowledge and skills to contribute to the development of company objectives and principles and to achieve project and strategic goals in innovative and effective ways.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required for the base tier.
• Advanced Degree or equivalent publications or experience required for SME tier.
• 5-6 years minimum of relevant experience designing a wide variety of commercial, high-rise residential, and industrial design for buildings and facilities. Minimum years as applicable to position tier.
• Highly proficient with specifying, and designing installations, & protective relay settings for medium voltage electrical equipment (motors, transformers, switchgear, MCC, VFDs)
• Highly proficient with 480 V and below power electrical equipment: (switchgear, MCC, transformers, VFDs, etc.) and calculations: Conduit Fill, Cable Tray Fill, Voltage Drop, Transformer Sizing, Neutral Sizing, GEC sizing, Feeder/Conductor Sizing, Panelboard Sizing, Sizing Lighting Loads, Overcurrent Protection Device sizing, Motor controls, Lighting and lighting controls, Grounding, Fire alarm systems, etc.
• Highly proficient in power system studies using EasyPower, SKM or ETAP, AGi Lighting Software or Amtech Pro design, CTcalc.
• Experience should be in systems associated with MV/LV/ELV/AV design.
• Advanced Degree.
• LEED-AP certification or equivalent is strongly preferred.
• Licensed Engineer (applicable countries).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or REVIT is strongly preferred. Exceptions may be made based on overall qualifications.
• Cost estimating experience.
• Proficiency in one or more of the following software suites, or equivalent, is desired: Autodesk Navisworks, Caneco ONE, Ecodial, Simaris, DIALux/DIALux EVO, Relux.
