Job Description

The Construction Site Coordinator plays a crucial role within the construction project management team. This position is instrumental in ensuring that construction projects run smoothly, on time, and within budget. The Coordinator acts as a bridge between the construction team, architects, project managers, and sometimes the clients. A successful Construction Site Coordinator will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. This role often involves deploying strategic planning and effective communication strategies to resolve any issues that arise on the site. Working closely with the compliance team, the Coordinator ensures that safety and regulatory standards are met throughout the project's lifecycle. They are often the first point of contact for troubleshooting site-related issues, meaning their role is critical to maintaining productivity and safety on site.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily construction site activities to ensure compliance with project schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with on-site foremen regarding production and personnel issues.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports for project managers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all safety policies and regulations are implemented and followed at the site.
  • Manage procurement and timely delivery of construction materials and equipment.
  • Facilitate clear communication between the construction team and external partners as needed.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards and compliance are met.
  • Assist in the preparation of site-specific safety plans and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of construction activities, changes, and site conditions.
  • Address and resolve any arising conflicts or issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
  • Oversee the proper use and maintenance of tools and machinery on site.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings and implement corrective actions when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction site coordination or management.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Demonstrable experience in project management and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills to coordinate large teams on site.
  • Proficiency in construction project management software and tools is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines on site.
