Introduction To Role
The VP BBU, International Markets is a pivotal role responsible for crafting and delivering regional strategies for our current and future product portfolio. With accountability for over $5 billion in revenue and profitability, this position oversees all BBU brands, including product management, consumerization, channel management, and resource allocation.
As a senior leader, the VP BBU will drive strategic initiatives and shape the future of our BBU Portfolio. This role demands visionary thinking and an entrepreneurial mindset to lead cross-functional teams in turning possibilities into realities.
Key Responsibilities Include
Strategic Vision: Define and articulate the long-term strategic vision, set ambitious goals, identify new market opportunities, and develop breakthrough strategies to address unmet patient needs globally.
Portfolio Strategy: Design and develop regional strategies, programs, and concepts to drive growth and success of our product portfolio, ensuring alignment with global guidelines.
Revenue Growth and Profitability: Drive revenue growth of over $5 billion by optimizing brand performance, implementing effective product management strategies, consumerization initiatives, and channel management practices.
Thought Leadership and External Engagement: Engage with key opinion leaders, government bodies, and industry collaborators to influence policy and promote AstraZeneca as a trusted healthcare partner.
Commercial Strategy and Execution: Provide strategic direction for commercial excellence and effective execution of business strategies across therapeutic areas and international markets.
Capability Building and Talent Development: Develop a successful organization by driving market capability building initiatives, fostering innovation, and attracting top talent.
Risk Management and Compliance: Uphold high standards of ethics, compliance, and risk management within the organization.
Essential Skills/Experience
Proven Marketing, Sales, P&L/General Management & Market Access experience (in a CP role)
Delivered sustained commercial performance in leading a medium/large country
Depth of knowledge and expertise in R&I, CVRM, V&I; led at least one TA, including launch experience
Developed and delivered TA or brand strategies globally
Experienced in Market Access; built AZ’s reputation with external collaborators
Managed significant risk and complexity; built a risk management mindset
Built impactful organization with engaged teams
Led cross-functional teams delivering multi-disciplinary strategies
Evidence of increased scale & complexity of accountabilities
Global marketing, strategy development experience preferred; exposure in R&D desired
Lived/worked outside own country; demonstrated continuous personal growth
Strong business analytical skills; translate insights into strategy/tactics
Commercial experience in emerging markets; understanding of healthcare systems
Mobility
Fluency in English
Masters Degree in Science or Business, Economics
Ability to operate in multi-cultural environment; influence through positive engagement
Strong drive for performance; decision-making skills in effective environment
