Job Description

The role of Team Leader in Debt Collection is a pivotal position within any financial institution or agency specializing in retrieving outstanding debts. This position requires an individual with a keen understanding of both financial processes and exceptional leadership skills. As a Team Leader, you will work closely with the debt collection team, guiding and mentoring collectors to maximize efficiency and recovery rates while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies. Your primary objective is to motivate your team to achieve collective targets, manage workloads efficiently, and foster a positive and productive working environment. By coordinating closely with other departments, you will strive to enhance overall performance and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of debt collectors to achieve monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of individual team members regularly.
  • Develop and implement effective collection strategies and action plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Provide regular training and coaching sessions to enhance team capabilities.
  • Manage customer accounts, handling complex cases and escalations effectively.
  • Prepare detailed reports on collection activities and team performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve account disputes and issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of team activities and results in the system.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss performance and planning.
  • Motivate and support team members to achieve individual and group goals.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance collection efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in debt collection or financial industry roles is essential.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising or managing a team.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills are required for this role.
  • Sound understanding of debt collection regulations and compliance matters.
  • Proficiency in using financial databases and software applications necessary.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically in difficult situations.
