The role holder is responsible for overseeing the cleaning, maintenance, and water treatment of swimming pools. This role involves managing a team of technicians, ensuring proper pool care practices are followed, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. The supervisor plays a key role in maintaining pool water quality, troubleshooting and repairing pool systems, and providing customer support while ensuring the pools are in safe and optimal condition for use.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and lead a team of pool cleaning, water treatment, and maintenance technicians.
Assign daily tasks and responsibilities to technicians to ensure effective completion of pool maintenance services.
Provide training and guidance to team members on proper pool cleaning techniques, water treatment procedures, and safety protocols.
Monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, and ensure high-quality service delivery.
Ensure all daily technical reports are always issued and available in accordance with requirements.
Oversee the regular cleaning and maintenance of swimming pools, including cleaning pool walls, floors, decks, and equipment.
Ensure pool water circulation systems, pumps, and filters are functioning properly.
Inspect and maintain pool heating, lighting, and filtration systems to ensure they operate efficiently.
Oversee the testing and balancing of pool water to ensure chemical levels (pH, chlorine, alkalinity, calcium hardness) are within safe and optimal ranges.
Supervise the maintenance and operation of water treatment systems, including chlorinators, saltwater systems, and other pool sanitization systems.
Ensure proper chemical dosing and water treatment methods to maintain clear, safe, and healthy pool water.
Identify and troubleshoot issues related to pool equipment, plumbing systems, filtration systems, and water treatment systems.
Supervise or directly handle the repair of malfunctioning pool systems and equipment.
Ensure all necessary repairs are completed promptly to minimize pool downtime and ensure safety.
Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations, including pool water quality standards and safety procedures.
Regularly inspect pools for safety hazards, including checking pool drains, ladders, and general pool condition.
Monitor and enforce safety standards related to water chemistry handling and equipment operation.
Communicate with clients about pool maintenance schedules, water treatment plans, and necessary repairs.
Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
Educate clients on proper pool care and water treatment methods to help them maintain their pools in optimal condition.
Develop and maintain schedules for pool cleaning, water treatment, and maintenance services to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
Coordinate with clients to schedule pool servicing and ensure minimal disruption to their usage.
Ensure that the team adheres to established schedules for pool inspections, cleanings, and chemical treatments.
Manage the inventory of pool maintenance supplies, including chemicals, cleaning tools, and equipment.
Order necessary supplies to ensure the team has everything needed to perform pool cleaning and maintenance duties.
Ensure safe storage, handling, and disposal of pool chemicals and maintenance materials.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and efficiency of pool systems.
Regularly inspect equipment and systems for signs of wear and tear, performing maintenance as needed to avoid costly repairs.
Maintain accurate records of pool maintenance activities, including cleaning schedules, water treatment procedures, and repair work.
Prepare and submit reports on pool conditions, service activities, and any issues that arise during maintenance.
Document inventory levels, ordering schedules, and chemical treatment logs for compliance and transparency.
Skills Required
The role holder will need to be extremely organized and self-motivated.
Proven experience in pool cleaning, maintenance, and water treatment, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of pool systems, including plumbing, filtration, heating, and water treatment methods.
In-depth understanding of pool water chemistry and safe chemical handling practices.
Ability to manage and lead a team, providing training and support to technicians.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly to clients.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in science /engineering
Additional qualifications related to plumbing, electrical systems, or water treatment may be an asset
Other Requirements
4- 5 Years' experience in supervisor level in the swimming pool cleaning , maintenance and water treatment field.
