Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on System Integration and Prototyping Technician to join our product development team. This role is crucial for bringing our innovative designs to life by assembling, wiring, and testing hardware prototypes. The ideal candidate will be a meticulous problem-solver with a strong background in electrical and mechanical assembly. This position will work closely with our engineering team to turn concepts into functional prototypes for validation and testing.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assembly: Build, wire, and assemble complex hardware prototypes from engineering schematics and CAD drawings.
  • Prototyping: Operate prototyping equipment, including 3D printers, laser cutters, and other tools, to fabricate custom parts and enclosures.
  • Testing: Conduct functional and stress tests on prototypes and components to identify issues and ensure they meet design specifications in marine environment.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair issues with hardware, wiring, and electronics during the assembly and testing phases.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all assembly processes, test results, and any modifications made to the prototypes.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Hands-On Skills: Proven experience with electrical wiring, soldering, and mechanical assembly.
  • Technical Reading: Ability to read and interpret detailed electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and BOMs (Bills of Materials).
  • Prototyping Equipment: Practical experience with prototyping tools such as 3D printers and common shop equipment.
  • Problem-Solving: A logical and systematic approach to troubleshooting and identifying the root cause of issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of assembly, from wiring to documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a technical field, or relevant certifications and equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a hardware technician, prototyping, or manufacturing role.
  • Experience with electronics, sensors, and basic programming concepts is a plus.
