Main Responsibilities:
Firmware Development: Design and write efficient, robust, and well-documented firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers and embedded processors.
Low-Level Programming: Develop and optimize drivers for communication interfaces (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART) and various sensors, including transducers and pressure sensors.
Hardware-Software Integration: Collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up new boards and debug hardware-software interface issues.
Real-Time Systems: Implement real-time operating systems (RTOS) and manage resource allocation to ensure mission-critical processes meet strict timing requirements.
Power Management: Develop and implement strategies for ultra-low-power operation to maximize battery life for long-term deployments.
Testing & Debugging: Create test scripts and debug embedded software using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit debuggers.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Hands-on experience with a variety of microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM, PIC) and knowledge of their peripherals.
Practical experience with real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar.
A strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, schematics, and datasheets.
Knowledge of standard communication protocols used in embedded systems.
Excellent analytical and debugging skills to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues.
Qualifications:
A Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in embedded systems development, preferably in a product-focused role.
Prior experience with underwater systems, IoT devices, or other low-power, ruggedized electronics is highly desirable.
