As a Structural Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, integrity, and functionality of various structures, including buildings, bridges, and other infrastructures. You will be responsible for examining structures to detect defects or compliance issues and provide solutions to prevent potential hazards. This role requires a keen eye for details, critical thinking, and a solid understanding of engineering principles and building codes. As part of a team of professionals, you will collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and construction workers to ensure all structures meet the safety and quality standards. Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of structures for safety and compliance anomalies.
• Document and report any findings or structural deficiencies accurately.
• Review and assess engineering and architectural plans for adequacy and compliance.
• Provide recommendations for corrective actions and improvements in structural design.
• Collaborate with engineers to review and apply building codes and regulations.
• Supervise testing and quality assurance measures on construction materials.
• Facilitate communication between site workers, engineers, and project managers regarding structural issues.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and present them to stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Keep abreast of new methodologies, codes, and technologies in structural inspection.
• Assist in the development and updating of inspection protocols and guidelines.
• Attend training sessions and continuous education courses to enhance inspection skills.
• Ensure all inspection equipment is calibrated and functioning optimally at all times.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Structural Inspector or similar role in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and engineering principles.
• Exceptional attention to detail and aptitude for technical problem-solving.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural plans accurately.
• Willingness to travel to construction and inspection sites as required.
• Proficiency in using inspection tools and reporting software is highly advantageous.
• Certification from a recognized inspection authority is an added advantage.
