This role is your chance to lead the charge in embedding Unilever’s Global Safety, Security, Health & Environment (SSHE) Framework across the AGU Office and DBS Warehouse—bringing global standards to life in the heart of the Gulf Business Unit. As SSHE Coordinator, you’ll design and deploy cutting-edge SHE systems, champion continuous improvement, and steer proactive risk management across UAE operations. You’ll be the central hub for security protocol execution, data insights, training innovation, and incident prevention—working hand-in-hand with leadership to achieve zero major incidents and build a culture where safety isn’t just a priority, it’s a way of life. What Will Your Main Responsibilities Be

  •  Lead and coordinate Safety, Health, and Environmental Excellence initiatives across the UAE and Arabia region, ensuring alignment with Unilever’s global standards.
  •  Support management in executing SHE programs, policies, reporting, and training to drive a culture of safety and compliance.
  •  Govern security protocols and systems across non-manufacturing sites, including oversight of security personnel and adherence to Unilever’s global framework.
  •  Conduct daily warehouse tours to identify safety risks, engage logistics teams in safety training, and promote active participation in engagement sessions.
  •  Facilitate contractor safety programs for cross boarder (Primary) and within country (Secondary) shipments, including training delivery, incident monitoring, and validation of investigation reports.
  •  Ensure timely reporting and thorough investigation of all incidents, recommending corrective actions and assigning accountability to prevent recurrence.
  •  Develop and embed site-specific security protocols and systems, ensuring continuous competency and compliance of all security staff.
  •  Report and escalate any on-site or off-site security incidents, maintaining transparency and swift response across the business unit.
  •  Produce and submit monthly safety statistics for UAE sites, contributing to regional performance reviews and corporate safety dashboards.
  •  Manage regional and cluster-level reporting for KPIs, leading indicators, environmental scorecards, and Akili metrics.
  •  Implement, review, and train teams on SHE processes, ensuring continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  •  Govern monthly updates of SHE reporting systems, covering occupational safety, environmental KPIs, training records, sub-committee actions, and hotspot tracking.
  •  Design and deliver safety training programs for UAE staff, in coordination with site training schedules and corporate requirements.
  •  Execute SHE-related projects arising from audits, risk assessments, hazard reports, and incident investigations, tracking progress and outcomes.
  •  Develop and update SHE procedures in response to operational changes or improvement opportunities, ensuring relevance and effectiveness.
  •  Collaborate with other departments to create and enforce safety rules and procedures tailored to their operations.
  •  Lead implementation of site-level SHE programs such as STOP, Hazard Reporting, Planned Inspections, and Permit-to-Work systems, with KPI tracking and reporting.
  •  Monitor and communicate progress of site improvement programs during Management Review Meetings, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  •  Coordinate the rollout of corporate, regional, and global safety standards across UAE sites, supporting full implementation and compliance.
  •  Organize annual SHE performance review meetings, updating action plans and aligning with ISO representatives for continuous certification readiness.
  •  Maintain and update all documentation related to GAP Life Critical Standards, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001, ensuring audit readiness and system integrity.

What You Need To Succeed

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Must have an Engineering degree and a working knowledge of “Safety”.
  • 2-3 year’s experience within SHE roles or project/maintenance management.
  • Preferably FMCG experience and warehousing safety knowledge
  • Knowledge of Safe Travel
  • Warehouse Safety operations
  • Experience in Audits
  • UAE driving license
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of defensive driving principles.
  • Have obtained formal safety trainings – like Permit to Work, Risk Assessment, OHSAS 18001.
  • Professional Safety Certification NEBOSH or IOSH
  • Open to move within Gulf region any time.
