Job Description

The Site Logistics Manager plays a pivotal role in the management and coordination of logistics operations within a company, ensuring the smooth, efficient, and cost-effective transportation and storage of goods. This position requires detailed planning, strategic decision-making, and robust logistical knowledge to optimize supply chain operations. Site Logistics Managers are responsible for overseeing all aspects of logistics including operations, supervision of staff, problem-solving, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. They also work closely with various departments to align logistics functions with overall company objectives, contributing to the achievement of business goals. An effective Site Logistics Manager ensures that all logistics processes are executed efficiently and cost-effectively, enhancing the productivity and profitability of the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and manage logistics strategies to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Oversee the operation and coordination of logistics policies and procedures.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate logistics staff performance to maximize productivity.
  • Coordinate and manage truck drivers, rounds, loads, and shipments with accuracy.
  • Ensure all logistics company warehousing operations comply with safety standards.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
  • Collaborate effectively with vendors, clients, and team members on logistics tasks.
  • Maintain logistics records, metrics, and analyze data for performance optimization.
  • Address and resolve logistics issues promptly and effectively when they arise.
  • Prepare accurate reports for upper management on logistics and project status.
  • Monitor and adjust logistics processes to align with business objectives.
  • Ensure that regulatory and legal requirements are followed in logistics operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in logistics management or a similar managerial position.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics software, systems, and industry technologies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to strategically plan and implement efficient logistics operations.
  • Solid leadership skills with the capability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Familiarity with regulations and safety standards in logistics and transportation.
