Job Description

The Service Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of a company’s equipment and machinery. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and excellent customer service. Service Engineers are tasked with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing of equipment, and they often serve as the primary point of contact between the company and the client for technical questions. The role demands a strong understanding of the technical specifications and functionalities of a wide range of equipment. Additionally, Service Engineers must keep abreast of the latest technological advancements to maintain the competitive edge of their company's services and products. Traveling to client sites for on-site support is often required, making flexibility and adaptability key attributes for success.


Responsibilities

  • Install and configure equipment and systems as per the specifications and requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and plan repair work accordingly.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers during the post-installation phase.
  • Ensure that all service activities comply with established industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of service activities and repairs for future reference.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical advice during the pre-sale stages.
  • Act as the main point of contact for client inquiries regarding technical issues.
  • Offer on-site training to clients to ensure effective use of the equipment.
  • Provide timely and detailed service reports following interactions with clients.
  • Continuously update personal knowledge on the latest developments in equipment technology.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good working order and are prepared for emergency call-outs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a similar Service Engineer role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for on-site service and support tasks.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and computer-based analysis programs.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for field service duties.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours on occasions of emergency repairs.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to solving client issues.
