Job Description

A Senior Structural Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and stability of various construction projects. With extensive expertise in analyzing and designing building structures, a Senior Structural Engineer collaborates closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop innovative solutions that align with client specifications and regulatory standards. This position requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, advanced use of design software, and a keen eye for detail. Senior Structural Engineers are responsible for leading project teams, providing technical oversight, and ensuring the highest levels of quality and safety in all structural tasks. As the caretaker of structural integrity, this role is vital in the built environment's safety, sustainability, and aesthetics.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage structural engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Analyze and design building structures, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with architects and contractors to develop innovative structural solutions.
  • Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Conduct site inspections to assess structural integrity and compliance.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineering team members.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Ensure all structural work adheres to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies accordingly.
  • Utilize advanced engineering software for modeling and simulation tasks.
  • Communicate project progress and updates to clients and project stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve engineering practices, processes, and team efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 7 years experience in structural engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and STAAD Pro.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and construction techniques.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is highly preferred or equivalent certification.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to lead and collaborate effectively.
