Job Description

The Senior Manager - Legal Counsel is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for overseeing and managing all legal affairs. This position requires a strategic thinker who can offer expert guidance across a variety of legal matters, including corporate governance, compliance, contracts, and regulatory issues. As the Senior Manager - Legal Counsel, you will collaborate with senior management to mitigate risks and implement legally sound strategies that align with the company's objectives. Your role will also involve maintaining the highest standards of legal ethics and integrity while fostering a proactive legal function. By navigating complex legal landscapes, you will drive critical initiatives that safeguard our interests and support our growth and innovation goals.


Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive legal advice and support to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of legal strategies and frameworks.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate complex contracts and legal agreements with third-party vendors.
  • Ensure company-wide compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Manage and supervise the legal team to uphold high performance and professional growth.
  • Identify potential legal risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them effectively.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel and represent the company in legal proceedings.
  • Lead corporate governance activities adhering to best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain organized legal records and documentation for easy reference and reporting.
  • Foster a strong ethical culture by promoting legal awareness and risk management practices.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions by conducting due diligence and offering legal insights.
  • Stay updated on new laws, regulations, and legal precedents relevant to the business.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate law or legal counsel roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience in managing legal teams in a corporate setting effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle complex legal issues strategically.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for diverse audiences.
  • Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction where the company operates is essential.
