As a Senior Cargo Planning & Capacity Development Assistant, you will provide support and assistance to the Cargo Planning and Development Section in the performance of functions related to freighter, charter and road feeder service operation and thereby contribute to the attainment of the objectives of the Emirates Sky Cargo department.

In This Role, You Will

  • Establish and maintain a computerised database in order to maintain records related to freighter, charter and road feeder service operations compiling reports which will aid management analysis and decision making. Monitor charter enquiries and maintain a database of all requests and responses so as to ensure charter enquiries are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Co-ordinate and communicate with both internal departments and external organisations in collecting data and information related to freighter, charter and road feeder services as well as disseminate necessary information in a timely manner so as to ensure internal business process standards and customer service levels are met.
  • Monitor freighter and charter operations identifying operational irregularities thereby assisting management analysis in order to improve operational efficiency.
  • Monitor performance of road feeder service providers, identify and report variations from agreed standards so that management action can be taken to correct the situation. This includes the verification of invoices from service providers related to freighter, charter and road feeder operations.
  • Contribute to the implementation of continuous improvements to planning and development activities so as to increase customer service levels, revenue and profitability.
  • Undertake liaison and follow up with stations, trucking companies and other third parties to ensure necessary data and information is obtained and communicated as necessary. Based on the requirements of each operation and feedback received from third parties, compile statistical data for management information in order to help in making proper Policy decisions.
  • Support the Manager/Superintendent/Officer in co-ordinating the routine functions of the department.
  • Undertake special projects detailed by the Manager/Superintendent such as gathering market and operational data prior to launching new charter/freighter/Road Feeder Services.

Qualification

To be considered for the role you must meet the below requirements:

  • 12 Years schooling or equivalent
  • More than 3 years of experience in logistics and cargo
  • Training: Approved Cargo Acceptance and Handling courses including Special Cargo Handling and Acceptance, Cargo Product Knowledge, Load Control I and Cargo Rating.
  • Computer skills: PC based skills to operate Windows packages such as Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, etc.
