Job Description

A Sales Engineer plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between the technical and sales aspects of a product. This specialized position requires a blend of engineering acumen and sales prowess. The Sales Engineer works closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements, deliver product demonstrations, and provide technical advice and support. They are responsible for helping clients understand the technical aspects of the products and solutions offered and ensuring that the product meets the customers' technical specifications. While being technically proficient, they also need to craft compelling value propositions that resonate with the customer’s needs. Sales Engineers are often the architects of tailored technical solutions that solve key challenges for clients, thereby playing a crucial role in driving sales and forging strong customer relationships.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver technical presentations to customers, showcasing product benefits and features.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer needs and propose suitable solutions.
  • Conduct thorough product demonstrations and provide technical support during the sales process.
  • Participate in customer meetings to discuss and understand technical requirements.
  • Create and present proposals and projections to potential clients to close sales deals.
  • Liaise with the engineering department to refine product specifications based on market feedback.
  • Prepare and present technical sales documentation and product data to clients.
  • Assist and train sales teams with product knowledge to enhance their selling capabilities.
  • Track and analyze product performance and sales figures to adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships to ensure repeat business and client satisfaction.
  • Identify new market opportunities and strategically plan the development of new business.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and competitor products to maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in sales engineering or a similar technical sales role.
  • Strong understanding of product and service technical intricacies and their applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical and sales-oriented tasks proficiently.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite for reports and documentation.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, demonstrations, and presentations as needed.
