Job Description

As a Safety Officer, you play a critical role in ensuring a safe and compliant workplace. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and minimizing operational hazards. Your primary objective will be to foster a secure, healthy, and legally compliant environment across all sites of operation. You will collaborate with teams to instill a culture of safety, focusing on proactive prevention strategies that reduce workplace injuries and enhance employee morale. With a strong emphasis on compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, you will serve as a vital source of advice and support to both management and staff in maintaining safety standards.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with regulations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, providing detailed reports.
  • Organize and conduct safety training sessions for employees at all levels.
  • Collaborate with management to establish a proactive safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor workplace safety and health compliance, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Prepare and present safety reports and metrics to leadership for review.
  • Maintain records and documentation of safety inspections and investigations.
  • Advise management on safety measures and potential risks in operations.
  • Coordinate emergency response drills and first aid training sessions for staff.
  • Stay updated on latest safety regulations and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a safety-related role in the industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Proven experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to educate others.
  • Certification in safety management or occupational health is highly desirable.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and create actionable safety plans.
